  • Simple Will Program Updated.
Firm's Simple Will Program Saves Money.

The Simple Will 300 Program (tm) initiated by Jerold R. Gilbert Law Offices, P.C., has been improved and updated.  It is intended to provide a low cost, quality and professionally drawn Will for the average individual.  Feedback from clients completing their Wills under the program has been overwhelmingly positive.

They enjoy the low cost.  $300.00 per person.

They like the quality of the documents and the extensive provisions contained in the Will.   The standard provisions of this Will  are normally seen in more expensive Wills.  As a result, you get a better value.

Provisions in the Will are designed to maximize monies going to the heirs and limit administration costs.  The cost of each Will is a mere fraction (1 to 2%) of the amount of potential savings. In reality, they can't afford to be without this Will.

They like completing their Medical Power of Attorney and Advance Medical Directive for no further cost.   It is a very affordable, complete and efficient package suited to their current needs and situation.

The process is easy, convenient and saves time and money by limiting office visits and time away from work. Usage of the downloadable form provides the information the firm needs to get started.

The firm will continue to develop the program to create greater ease of use, transfer of information and improved efficiency.

  • Medical Powers of Attorney Forms with HIPPA Provisions Now Available.
Older Medical Powers of Attorney Forms Should Be Updated.

In early 2006, the Colorado Bar Association, Committee on Estate Planning, released their adopted uniform language for HIPPA provisions in their Medical Power of Attorney forms.  Previous forms not containing those provisions were subject to rejection by health care providers when applied in certain situations.  HIPPA (the Federal Act protecting the privacy of information) created an unintended consequence wherein certain powers of attorney were considered to be noncompliant with the act.  Over the course of several years the issue was addressed on a piecemeal basis by individual lawyers and healthcare providers. Having no focused consensus of acceptable provisions, the resulting confusion in the healthcare and legal communities only compounded the problems clients faced.  As a result of the committee's work, uniform language considered acceptable to members of the healthcare industry and legal community was agreed upon and is now implemented in all Medical Powers of Attorney documents prepared by Jerold R. Gilbert Law Offices, P.C.

We urge all clients and members of the public to check their prior documents for compliance and update them as soon as possible.
